If your company (this term includes sole traders, partnerships, private companies, wholly owned companies and publicly listed companies) has sales exceeding $60,000 N.Z. or if you expect your sales to go over $60,000 for the next 12 months (= $5,000 sales per month), then it must be registered for GST |

| Under the Threshold |
If your
company/business has sales under $40,000 N.Z. then it may voluntarily
be registered for GST which generally can be beneficial to traders. |
| Registering by Distributors |
Your
distributors have the same choice to register under the threshold
and most Direct Selling companies prefer to see their distributor
registered for simplicity and equal treatment in your accounting
systems. |
